Ride Summary

Excellent ride on the shoreline of Ullswater, with the benefit of a very good road surface.

Ride Description

Riders find this route quite addictive, routinely goining back and forth between Newby Bridge and Penrith. It is a long ride that goes through the Lake District National Park.

Directions

Take the A592 from Newby Bridge towards Penrith. In Newby Bridge, start with the A66 and then left on the A592, following the shores of Ullswater, then taking the Kirkstone Pass road to Windermere. From Kirkstone, it goes downhill and up again, still with a perfect surface.

Best Thing about This Ride

The quality of the road surface tops it all, and the scenery is also hard to forget. After all, it is the Lake District.
