Best Thing About This Ride
Good to great roads surfaces with everything from tight hairpins to fast flowing, sweeping bends. The Kings Hwy in particular was fun with a fantastic road surface. You could start anywhere along the route, and if you come turn at Mt Thorley in the Hunter Valley, you could come back into Sydney via the Putty Rd or even through Broke and Wollembi to Mangrove Mtn to Sydney. This of course will add some extra distance and maybe a day or 2.
What Else to Look Out For
We did this over the Easter extra long weekend and found the constabulary was concentrated closer to the coast but as always be very careful on the way to Canberra and around Goulburn. Not much in the way of wildlife, other than already dead ones. We stayed at the Berry Inn at Berry, the Taragla Hotel at Taragla and the Oriental Hotel at Mudgee. All very bike friendly and highly recommended.
