MC RiderRide Summary
This four to five hour route offers and beautiful and relaxing route to follow that avoids the crowds.
Ride Description
This route is far from challenging, and it is favoured by riders to want to get away from the more crowded tourist routes. It takes in the beautiful northern coastlands and the eastern Bay of Islands as well as the pretty towns of Maromaku and Kawakawa. The route is mostly along the well maintained SH10, but there are some diversions that offer challenging gravel riding to keep things interesting.
Directions
Leaving from Kaitaia you’ll head north on the SH10 and into the area of Doubtless Bay. Continue on the same road towards the Bay of Islands and then head south on the SH1 at Parakara. The SH1 takes you all the way in to Whangarei.
