Ride Summary

A great ride through a not so well known riding region North-east of Melbourne in Victoria.

Ride Description

A great ride for both the solo rider as well as part of a larger group. Plenty of places to stop along the way and has the added beauty of not being as busy as some of the more popular riding regions in Victoria (think Yarra Ranges / Alpine Region). Definitely worth a look.

Directions

Start from Sunbury, coffee at the Jolly Miller, near the railway station. Take the Riddles Creek road and turn left just past the railway bridge. Back towards Gisborne, then right to Mt Macedon. Over the top to Straws Lane. Turn right to Hanging Rock, turn left at the cross roads to Wood End. Vanilla slices at the Bakery in Wood End, head towards Daylesford, turn off to Trentham, stop for a pie and a walk around. From there ride to Blackwood Visit the Blackwood Hotel, an original 19th Century pub in the Hills. Keep going to Greenvale, close to the Ballarat Hwy. Back to Bacchus Marsh and home:
