This ride, starting in Eumundi and heading for Kenilworth takes you along the Blackall Range through Flaxton, Montville and on into Maleny; a trip of around 74 km.

Ride Description

The ride really starts once you leave the valley heading up for Kenilworth; a gourmet banquet of bends, straights and then more bends.

Leaving Kenilworth, you’re straight into more demanding esses. Enough free fun that elsewhere might cost you hard cash. Hey, why not go back and give them a second go, always string them together better the second time around. The pub in Kenilworth is a favorite amongst riders in this area, so well worth a visit as too is the popular Eumundi Market.

Directions

Leave Eumundi and cross over the Bruce Highway onto the Eumundi- Kenilworth Road. Leave Kenilworth and take the Obi Obi Road through Kidaman Creek and Obi Obi to Mapleton. Turn right onto Flaxton Drive which, on the other side of Flaxton, becomes the Montville Mapleton Road and which will take you right through to Maleny.

Best Thing About This Ride

For the purist, the best rides are on the first and second stages, first from Eumundi to Kenilworth and then the initial stretch after leaving Kenilworth. This area is very popular with tourists and as such the roads are well signed and in great condition.

What Else To Look Out For

Some stretches of road are definitely rural and it pays one to keep an eye peeled for ‘locals’ coming the other way. Also, on weekends and during tourist season watch out for tourist coaches; especially on the road between Mapleton and Maleny.
