Motorcycle RidesRide Summary
This is a perfect weekend jaunt, or perhaps even a one day round trip for the stout of heart. It is 307kms north of Lake Wivenhoe, and 319kms south of Lake Wivenhoe.
Ride Description
Head out of Brisbane on the Waterworks Road towards for Mt. Glorious and coffee with dozens of others out for a brisk ride. The run through The Gap, Mt. Nebo and on to Mt. Glorious is one of the most used in the Brisbane area because of its succession of corners, mostly through Brisbane Forest Park. After Mt. Glorious continue on through Dundas, Crossdale, and Caboonbah, around Wivenhoe Dam to Esk. This stretch of road is almost as much fun as the twin mounts road, but with fewer bikes.
The road from Esk will take you through the Hamilton Range towards Hampton and then later on the Toowoomba Road to the small town of Cabarlah
Directions
Depart Brisbane along Waterworks Road to Mt Glorious, Dundas, Crossdale, Caboonbah, around Wivenhoe Dam to Esk, to Upward Hampton. Just down from Hampton, take the Toowoomba Road to Cabarlah. Return to Brisbane by retracing your route, or via the Warrego Highway.
