Motorcycle RidesRide Summary
This motorbike ride covers approximately143 kilometers of the 283 km length of the Mt. Lindsay Highway. Beginning in Woodenbong, this is a relatively cruisy, relaxing ride through grazing land and rolling hills, gentle in spots but interspersed with a stretches of blind corners and occasionally truck traffic.
Ride Description
The ride begins in the town of Woodenbong on the Mt. Lindsay Hwy., a road that provides great conditions and some excellent corners on through the border. The ride gradually enters the gentle rolling hills as it loops around Mt. Lindsay. There are lots of picnic spots along this stretch of this road.
The first sizeable town on this ride is Rathdowney which has a great pub at the Lions Road turnoff. Leaving Rathdowney, the road more or less follows the Logan River northward with Beaudesert the next town. A great side trip at this point is to head towards Mt Tamborine.
The remainder of the ride will take you through Jimboomba and Browns Plains and on to the Brisbane metropolis.
Directions
Begin in Woodenbong (just short of the Queensland border) on the Mt. Lindsay Highway, through Rathdowney, Beaudesert, Jimboomba, and on to Brisbane. For a side trip to Tamborine, hang a right at Beaudesert.

Best Thing About This Ride
Pure relaxation. It’s an easy pace, good roads, peaceful terrain with a nice sprinkling of towns with any service desired; an all in all great trip.
What Else To Look Out For
Take extra care on the hwy around Mt Lindsay and north; big trucks abound, and can be very disconcerting around blind curves.
