Ride Summary

The ride from from Bega to Cooma is a superb route for bikers looking to enjoy the natural setting of Brown Mountain and the Wadbilliga National Park. This is about an hour and a half of riding with no stops, And heads Northwest away from the coast and through the towns of Bemboka and Nimmitabel.

Ride Description

Heading West out of Bega, the first thing you will notice is the series of twisties that flow really nicely and can be a lot of fun. The terrain begins to change when you near Brown Mountain. The ride can get quite challenging under certain weather conditions, so be cautious. Leaves can turn wet on the ground during rainfall and fog can make the steep climb up Brown Mountain a bit nerve racking! Your pace will pick up considerably as you hit the peak of the mountain and the roads level out a bit. Here you will find a series of high alpine plains and countryside riding.

Directions

When riding from Bega to Cooma, you will be heading West on the Snowy Mountains Highway for about 60km until the highway jogs North and turns into the Monaro Highway. Take the Monaro Highway for about 50km and you will be in Cooma.
